With a long family history in the industry, timber isn’t just our profession… it’s our passion. We love working with architects, artists, builders and urban designers to create complex curved wood structures, and they don’t have to be curved. We have the expertise to deliver, because we know and love timber… because we’re skilled in diverse timber techniques… and because we’re specialists in glulam fabrication.
Leading glulam solutions for state-of-the-art design
Glulam (or glued laminated timber) isn’t a new practice, but it’s not widely employed in Australia. We know the potential is limitless – and we are passionate about helping you see the possibilities.
We use glulam fabrication to create curved wooden structures and beams for state-of-the-art, sustainable and spectacular design solutions.
We precisely cut and glue thin layers of timber together to carefully create the forms and shapes your project requires. And we use finger jointing to connect shorter timber pieces into vast, continuous lengths. We then deliver them pre-fit for easy installation.
Glulam beams are structurally robust and aesthetically striking. We have the capacity to produce curved wood and straight beams, and we’ll tailor your glulam timber project to suit indoor or outdoor environments – to precise strength and size requirements.
Comprehensive timber capability
Based in Sydney, we have a fully-equipped workshop kitted out with first-class machinery for comprehensive timber fabrication. Glulam is our core focus – and we supplement it with exceptional woodworking techniques.
Our extensive capability includes:
- Custom glulam fabrication
- Curved beams and rafters
- Cutting and dressing

Vast knowledge of materials
At Curvwood, we know materials implicitly. With our background in timber, joinery and building, we understand which materials are best suited for indoor and outdoor applications, structural requirements and environment.
We work with a variety of softwoods and hardwoods and will recommend the best option for your brief and budget. We can create with Tasmanian Oak, Radiata Pine, Spotted Gum and Blackbutt, to name a few. Or we might recommend Accoya, a durable and sustainable timber that’s remarkably flexible.
Personal and professional
Curvwood is a family business – and our family has worked with timber for close to 50 years. We aren’t just passionate about what we do… we have helped to shape the industry. We’re focused on professional timber manufacturing and bespoke solutions. And we love nothing more than bringing your designs to life.
When you work with us, you work directly with Truett and Ron, our joiner and timber experts. They’ll be in direct communication with you from design to delivery. There is no middle man. You have direct access to the experts… for an easy and efficient curved wood collaboration.
With passion also comes quality. We pride ourselves on our meticulous craftsmanship and a job finished to perfection. It means we’ll always deliver to precise scope – and to deadline.
